All deck footings are drilled using our Bobcat equipment to a depth well below 4 feet for decks attached to the house, whether supported by concrete or helical pile foundations.
To ensure maximum strength and durability, we use double ledger boards and secure them to the house structure with 1/2" hot-dip galvanized lag screws, 8-10 inches in length. These high-quality, hot-dip galvanized bolts are specifically designed for large outdoor structures, offering superior longevity compared to cold-dip galvanized bolts or indoor screws.
The double ledger board system provides a reliable and long-lasting connection between your deck and the house, ensuring a secure and stable structure.
Additionally, all deck joists are designed and constructed in full compliance with the Ontario Building Code, including proper spanning allowances, to guarantee safety and durability.

BY-LAW
In general, a building permit is required for any deck or porch that is attached to a building, no matter its size or height above grade.
However, a building permit is not necessary if the deck is less than 20 square metres in area and does not exceed 60 centimetres (approximately 23.6 inches) in height above the average grade.
